I think that there is a misconception about Challenge Groups offered through Beachbody coaches. Upon hearing concerns from potential challengers I have decided to clear the air a bit about this. I am speaking for my groups only when I say this, because contrary to what some skeptics believe, each Beachbody coach does their own thing, their own way, on their own time. A Challenge Group can be a topic of discussion that could go on and on, but I have narrowed it down to a few key points that cover the bases.
1. A Challenge Group is a “safe” place for people to feel comfortable about the journey they are choosing. Safe meaning it is private (9 out of 10 Challengers ask to keep their photos, measurements, info, etc private). Because this is about YOU and only you! Not about the millions of people on social media.
2. It is NOT a place where people are expected to post their before photos and their weight and anything else that may be sensitive info at the time of starting a new program. After all, starting something new can be intimidating, especially when then outcome will result is physical changes to ones appearance. Challengers choose the info in which they share and the info that they would like to keep private. That is fine! This is your story, I am just hear to help you tell it.
3. It is a place to find support and talk with people that are doing the same program as you. Sometimes something new is scary and frustrating and having people that are going through the same thing to share with or vent with is a great way to keep pushing when you want to quit. Of course there are times when a Challenger will feel like throwing in the towel or falling back into old habits, but with this group you see that you are NOT alone in this journey. Challengers feed off of each others accomplishments and help each other get through the tough times. No one said this was going to be easy, but I can assure you it will be worth it!
4.It does NOT make you change who you are. You don’t join this group then all of a sudden have an identity change. If you like to go to the gym, you can. If you like to run for miles and miles, you can. If you are social and stay up late on the weekends, you will still do that! (It may make for a tougher workout the next day though!) It just enhances who you are and helps you find the better you that is waiting to be unleashed or that may have gotten lost in the craziness that we call life.
5. It is a great way to learn the basics of leading a healthy lifestyle while having fun at the same time. It is not just about weight loss and insane body transformations. A lot of people join a Challenge Group for the general knowledge that comes out of it. In the group you build the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. You learn how to eat right and what to eat. You learn how to incorporate regular exercise into your routine. All while socializing and doing this in a team setting rather than trying to figure it out on your own!
No one WANTS to be unhealthy or unhappy, no one WANTS to live life overweight and tired. So instead of discouraging starting something new and discouraging someone that is trying to get their health in check maybe you should see what it is all about. These groups are changing people lives on so many levels. Not only is it about weight loss, but people see their confidence rise and their insecurities fade away. They allow people to make new friends in a positive environment. Some challengers have noticed they are more productive at work due to increased energy and overall mood change. Many have noticed that their negative thoughts and habits are kicked to the curb. And EVERYONE comes out of this Group with a different outlook on life in general.
Check out these 2 testimonies from REAL CHALLENGERS:
“I personally can say I was nervous about a group but it turned out to be the BEST thing for me! It was always so encouraging to have a place to post my little and big achievements and get that awesome support back! The number one reason I liked it was it kept me pushing…I didn’t want to be the one that didn’t exercise. If I was having trouble getting my butt in gear someone would post that they were struggling or succeeding and it encouraged me. I know I used the would encouraging multiple times but it’s the best word to describe it! Anyone on the fence I would suggest…take a leap and DO IT!” -Lizzie M. Pittsburgh, Pa
“The groups are amazing. I have met some great people on there. I hate how people say that beachbody is just overpriced blah blah blah. Yea it may be a bit pricy but their products work and get the job done! They are not easy workouts by any means that’s why these programs get u results and the groups are a great way to get advice learn new things and complain how bad we want a cookie!!!!” -Shannon L. Murrysville, Pa
