Over the years I have tried many different workout programs. I have lifted at the gym, ran, done kettlebell workouts, at home workouts, pilates, yoga, zumba, spinning, aerobics, water aerobics and basically any other form of exercise that is out there. I’ve heard a lot of people refer to their “soulmate workout.” If that is something that exists, then I have found my soulmate workout.
The 21 Day Fix workouts combine just the right amount of cardio and strength training and it is all jammed into just 30 minutes! The Fix comes with 7 days worth of workouts, plus 1 bonus 10 minute ab workout (which sounds innocent…just 10 minutes…don’t let the name fool you!) I have chosen a favorite out of those 7 workouts. I actually crave this workout. It is scheduled for Saturday (if following the Fix calendar) and Saturday instantly became my favorite day of the week. It’s called “The Dirty 30” and the name suits it well. It is a total body workout that leaves no area un-worked. It incorporates cardio and weight training and works several muscle groups at a time which allows you to burn more calories in a shorter amount of time. By the end you are sweating and your limits have been pushed, but when you finish that cool down you feel so strong! At least I do. When I workout, I take that 30 minutes and I give it my all. I push myself to make the most of it, after all, you are doing it for a reason right?!?
I like to incorporate kettlebells into my workout for a little heavier weight. Plus often times they are easier to control than free weights. During the workout, I focus on my form, my reps, and the speed at which I am moving the weights. To maximize your workout: Instead of lift slow and release quickly, lift slow and release slow. Lift and lower to a 5 second count in each direction.
Decide. Commit. Succeed.
