The 3 Day Refresh…you’re wondering okay… “What is this??”
You may have already heard of the Shakeology 3 Day Cleanse. The 3 Day Refresh came to life because it was discovered that the body may need more in order to detox and cleanse than what the 3 Day Cleanse was providing. I am going to give you a little insight about the Refresh from both the Beachbody Corporate standpoint and from my own standpoint.
The 3 Day Refresh according to Beachbody Corporate:
The 3 Day Refresh was born because the developers of Shakeology actually care about their customers and care about the people drinking their product. They have researched exactly what the body needs in order to cleanse toxins and effectively lose weight. The body needs fiber and good fats in order to be regular. You cannot detox in a healthy way on liquids alone. Here is a short video (under 4 minutes) that breaks down the Refresh.
The 3 Day Refresh incorporates all of the important nutrients the body needs in order to rid toxins and get back on a healthy track.
The 3 Day Refresh according to ME:
I am going to keep it very real with you when I talk about the 3 Day Refresh, just so you don’t get the wrong idea. I have tried different detox/cleanse methods. Some of these methods include, a Teatox, a juice cleanse. the eat tons of apples and only drink water all day cleanse, the at home suppository “cleanse”, and many others even the Shakeology 3 Day Cleanse. None of those methods are like this one AT ALL! The 3 Day Refresh allows you to still eat food while cleansing, at no point are you starving, at no point are you feeling deprived, and at no point are you energy levels so low that you just pass out mid sentence. For me, a typical day went a little something like this…
Breakfast: 1 scoop of Shakeology mixed with 10oz of water, 6 ice cubes, and 1/2 of a banana
Mid- morning: Green Tea (I drink Yogi Green Tea w/ Kambucha)
Late morning: 3 Day Refresh Fiber Sweep mixed with 10oz ICE COLD water
Lunch: 3 Day Refresh Vanilla Fresh shake with 10oz water and a serving of frozen blueberries. Along with a serving of vegetables prepared with coconut oil (usually broccoli for me)
Mid Afternoon: Green Tea
Afternoon Snack (at least 1 hour after tea): A serving of carrots with hummus
Dinner: 3 Day Refresh Vanilla Shake with 10oz water and ice with cinnamon. Along with a selection from the dinner menu.
Post Dinner: Green Tea
I also drank about 80-100oz of water per day.
In a nutshell, I did this post Summit, post vacation in OBX over the 4th of July weekend. I had fallen off track a bit and I definitely made some poor eating choices. I was feeling bloated, I felt like I had gained 50lbs (in actuality though, I had gained 5lbs in a months time), and I needed to get my head back in the game. I did the Refresh as a lead into PiYo and a way to get back in the mindset of healthy, clean eating. The Refresh definitely delivered on all aspects. I am down 3lbs and feeling really good. I am ready to conquer PiYo!!
