P90- Sculpt A
I started P90 almost 5 weeks ago already! I can’t believe it. I have one more “Saturday Special” then a rest day then on to the B-Series!! I am feeling very exited about moving on, but I wanted to share some highlights from the A-Series. When beginning your P90 journey, you choose if you are going to go the “Sweat” route or the “Sculpt” route. I personally had a few pounds to shed so I chose the Sweat route. All that means is that I do the workout titled Sweat more times a week than the Sculpt workout. Once beginning the routine, it turns out that I personally enjoy the Sculpt workout the best. It is a great mix between cardio and strength training.
The workout consists of various exercises that use both weights and resistance bands. It also utilizes the “H” which is simple floor tape in the shape on an H that Tony Horton uses to give you an understanding of where your footing should be during the workouts.
Once you are through the warm-up, you can expect exercises that last between a 1 minute and 1 minute 30 seconds. There is a short rest between each exercise. In this particular workout Horton incorporates resistance workouts, body weight exercises, and weighted moves using dumbbells. Following the workout is a cool down that includes stretching. This part is very important to not skip. This is a total body workout and even for someone that is in shape and workouts regularly, it is still challenging. For those of you that are beginners, he takes the time to demonstrate the form of each exercise that way you are safely doing the move and getting the most of your workout.
Working out is important to me because I know my health is worth it! P90 is a great program for beginners and should be considered when starting your fitness journey. If accountability is your biggest challenger, I have you covered! I run online accountability groups to help you set and REACH your goals! I was nervous starting P90 too! I had never done a Tony Horton program, I was intimidated by 90 days, and I was intimidated by the H! I have a great support group and accountability partners in my group and we have a great time! Meal planning, recipe sharing, motivating each other and helping hold one another accountable.
